‘Tea time’ by Pakistani Photographer Rahul Aijaz

In early 2014, I was roaming around the Empress Market, one of the oldest markets in Pakistan (built in late 1800s) and came across a yellow wall. When I peaked inside, it was a meat shop where three old gentlemen were having tea. I stepped inside and asked for permission to take their photograph. The men were more than happy and welcomed me. I was suprised by their generosity as they offered me some tea too. Daily life in Pakistan cannot go by without having at least a few cups of tea everyday, be it a chilling winter night, a fiery summer afternoon or an evening in fall. The gentlemen shared their personal experiences about life, money and women, narrating anecdotes from years ago, while I captured this experience in photographs.
